A little about

my why

It starts with education, in every form. I believe that investment in and promotion of education is of utmost importance. There is an education divide on this planet and despite raising up the lower layers, the top layer keeps getting higher and farther away. Regardless of where I earn my paycheck, my life is dedicated to education and building people up. If you’re around me, I’m asking you how I can help you make your life better.

Beyond that, I am passionate about increasing opportunities by providing resources or teaching people how to do it themselves. Through business consulting, I strive to deliver to people, whether individually or on behalf of an organization, perspective on how they can look at their problems and opportunities. Through insight, comes strategy. Through strategy, comes results. Through results, comes insight.

A little about

my projects

Cameroon Education

This project was started during my MBA program at the College of William & Mary’s Mason School of Business. I was to choose a wicked problem that was important and/or relevant to me. Previously working in communications, I found myself drawn to solving problems at an interpersonal level. I began to wonder how to help people in the most effective way, finding that the least developed countries were in the most need of assistance. After reading not only the current efforts to raise these communities from poverty, I read criticisms of how some donation efforts and business models can actually perpetuate poverty traps (herehere, and here, for starters).  Read More +

One Million Lives

In 2016, I set a goal for my life:

Improve the lives of 1,000,000 people

I had no idea how I was going to do it or how long it would take. I started learning as much as possible about people, economies, and psychology. I needed to figure out where the pain point(s) was that I could specifically tackle. I eventually honed in on helping people help themselves (very related to the education project above) as it related to leadership. I set out to read as many books, meet as many people, and write as many articles as I could to learn about, form, share, and collaborate on brilliant ideas. By passing what I learn onto others, I’m developing my personal brand into a catalyst for personal improvement.

Future publications

In expanding and elaborating on the ideas from the other projects, I decided to craft a few more mediums in which to spread ideas. The idea of these media have been in the works for some time now, but are at last underway in their development. The first is a book about improving yourself in creative ways despite limitations. The second is a podcast about where psychology and business meet. Both of these have tentative release dates for mid- to late-2018.

During this process, I have learned a lot about myself, my values, what I want out of life, and what I want to give back to the planet. I believe truly amazing ideas transcend generations because they are crafted to be adaptable. I hope to leave a lasting idea that, quite literally, anyone can be a force for change in this world. I’m constantly in search of amazing people, so I would love you for to {reach out to me} if you want to talk about improving lives.

A little about

my background

Go Tribe

I earned my BSc in Psychology and an MBA from the College of William & Mary. I’ve studied leadership, management, strategy, design thinking, emotional intelligence, and organizational behavior. I continue my education every day, learning about how psychology and business overlap (And yes, I proudly wear the green ‘n gold)

Polymath Trainee

I’ve held a lot of titles, from bartender to consultant. I’ve owned a fitness clothing company and studied eight languages. Much of my experience is in education and communications. Using the knowledge and skills gained from these various positions, I found a true calling in learning about every subject I encounter to use it in solving problems.

Life Balance

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my wife and two dogs, running, and lifting weights. I also love food, and I’m just as likely to eat an upscale meal as I would Pizza Hut. I’m obsessed with reading, which, aside from business books, includes classic literature and forensic criminology novels. When I’m not writing here, I try my hand at creative fiction.

about me is that I’m not afraid to die on a treadmill.
I will not be outworked.”
